According to Presidential Decree "On the parameters of the state order of admission to higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the 2020-2021 academic year", quota of admission to higher education is as follows:
FOR BACHELOR’S DEGREE:
- for daytime education – 103 575;
- for extramural education – 31 350;
- for evening education – 5 025.
FOR MASTER’S DEGREE – 10 425.
If we compare these figures with the number of places allocated in the previous academic year, we can see a dramatic increase in this year’s quota.
For example, for bachelor’s degree:
- A total of 81,455 places were allocated for fulltime education in the previous academic year (18,455 grants, 62,900 paymentcontracts), and for the current academic year a total of 103,575 (23,495 grants, 80,080 paymentcontracts), the total difference is 22,120; 5,040 more places have been allocated for education on the basis of grants, and 17,180 more on the basis of paymentcontracts;
- Quota for extramural education has been increased by 11,365 compared to the previous year;
- 3 040 more places have been allocated for evening education;
- There is also an increase of 2,720 places in master's programs.
Considering that last year a total of 111,130 places were allocated, this year the figure is 150,375, this year there will be 39,245 more students in bachelor's and master's programs than last year.
In addition, there are a few significant changes in the process of admission examinations for undergraduate education in higher education institutions. They are as follows:
- applicants will be registered from June 20 to July 20 of this year (including July 20);
- applicants are registered through the Single portal of interactive public services and the official website of State Test Center (abitur.dtm.uz);
- applicants have the right to participate in the competition in up to five undergraduate majors with the same set of subjects in the same sequence;
- admission tests are also held in two subjects corresponding to the bachelor's degree major chosen by the applicant.
These are some of the measures taken in our country this year to support applicants in the event of the coronavirus pandemic.
